The renovation of this Burlington home in the Tyandaga neighbourhood included updating the kitchen to feature a more functional layout in a small space and a sleeker appearance to match the character of the rest of the home.
The kitchen cabinetry features dark stained doors and Cambria “Laneshaw” quartz counter tops with a matching backs plash. The dark cabinetry was contrasted with gold accents in the strapping of the custom hood vent, plumbing fixtures, gold Berenson cabinetry hardware and the pendant light fixture from Elte.
The unfinished basement of the home was transformed into a luxury oasis complete with a wine cellar, full kitchen, entertainment area and a home gym. The cabinetry from the existing upstairs kitchen was re-purposed with a new layout, counter tops, back splash and plumbing fixtures to create a fully functioning kitchen and bar space for gatherings of friends and family. There is a large seating area around the electric fireplace and the television hidden behind sliding doors with a custom wrap and new cabinetry stained to match the existing kitchen. The basement features Farrow and Ball paint colours throughout with dark doors and trim, and accent wallpaper panels to frame the wall sconces and add interest to the back of the peninsula – the same wallpaper is used in the new powder room to contrast the gold texture painted ceiling. The new wine cellar features a stucco wall texture and barrel vaulted ceiling with brick wallpaper for an authentic feel.
